What Other Bloggers Are Saying #33

I want to start this off by showing you one of the better Tedx Talks that I have watched lately. Preet writes for the Globe and Mail now and has quite  the resume built up. This fourteen minute video had my undivided attention which is saying a lot since I have the attention span of a squirrel!

Enjoy!

What Other Bloggers Are Saying #32

Any Pinterest users out there?  I’m pretty excited about adding buttons to our pictures on this site in case anyone felt the desire to share our articles to their friends.  I’m also glad I didn’t break the site for a week like I did with my website at work (Oops!).

Speaking of breaking stuff, it seems like RIM’s big showing of their new phone didn’t turn out too well on the stock market. I expected it to jump a bit, or even stay level, but not to drop at the close on the 31st.  I am curious to see if the new branding of the company or their new flagship phone puts them back on an even playing field. I’m quite happy with my Samsung 3 and have no desire to change operating systems any time soon. I like the idea of a Canadian company taking on most of the corporate market share though. Once their app store catches up to Google Play or Apple I’ll have to take another look at it.

I’m still undecided  on if I want stocks in RIM or not…Any thoughts?

Here are some readings from around the web.

  2. Teacher Man also rants about the mad scramble for rrsp contributions

What Other Bloggers Are Saying #31 – Back to School Edition

I enrolled in one class this semester because as you may know, I write like a monkey.  This class should help my grammar in a big way because it wasn’t really talked about in my high school. Thankfully I’m calling it “professional development” and I will get reimbursed for it.  Here is the break down on the fees…

Application Fee  $80.00 – Standard these days

Arts Tuition $307.59 – U of M is known for their cheap tuition, not saying I agree with it but thats another story..

Late Registration Fee $25.00 – Completely my fault

Library Fee $38.16 – Never stepped foot in a Library on campus

Registration Fee $38.16 - Seriously?

Student Organization Fees $61.75 – I actually argued this one but i was forced to pay it. The good thing is I can start raising hell at any of their meetings now.

Student Services Fee $32.71 – This one is I actually don’t mind paying.

Tech Fee $16.35 – While they are adding fees, why not this one?

Total $599.72 -

I am taking one course that costs $308! Fees make up half of my tuition!  This is why there is a big argument to finish your schooling fast because it costs so much in order to take your classes (housing, and those pesky ancillary fees)  Continue Reading →
